You use your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari . . .) every day to access information on the Internet. You read/send emails, use social media like Facebook/Instagram, and Shop, do research, watch movies and YouTube videos, and more. We will show you how to do these things safely and efficiently, increasing productivity. There are over 188,000 extensions (small software) for Chromium-based browsers (such as Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi, Opera, etc.) and a similarly large number for the Apple’s Safari Browser as add-ons. These small software add-ons can customize your browser behavior and help you become productive in all tasks you do using browsers to interact with the resources on the Internet. In this presentation, we will share some useful extensions for Firefox and similar browsers. We will show where and how to get such an extension for Firefox/Chrome, how to install, use, and uninstall them, and how they help you be more productive and safe on the Internet. We will not be showing Safari-based extensions, but what you learn in this class can also be applied to Safari.
